Online conference to address mitigating risks in the procurement process

As Smart Procurement gears up to host its Western Cape Smart Procurement World online conference in May 2020, the benefits of aligning themselves with the event led Oracle to sign up as one of the event’s preferred sponsors.
The online event will include presentations, international and local keynote addresses, and panel discussions.
The panel discussion – ‘Technology Zone: Maximising technology to drive procurement risk mitigation’ – will address the need for digital literacy in procurement as now more urgent than ever. Delegates will learn about the why, what and how of successfully implementing technological change, and the benefits of doing so. The moderator will be Julian Abrahams (Global Change, Strategy and Digital Transformation Executive at Vodacom), who will be joined online by panellists Phakiso Mataitsane (Applications Sales Director at Oracle), Andy Potter (Business Development Director, EMEA, at Ansarada), Faan Du Toit (Group Manager: Procurement & Planning at Distell) and Brandon Gordon (Systems Manager at the Provincial Treasury).
“Two other sessions which we highly recommend are the presentation by Sydney Tshibubudze (Executive: Strategic Sourcing (CPO), Barloworld Automotive and Logistics) on ‘Procurement value beyond cost savings – Business unusual’ and the international opening keynote address by Andy Potter entitled ‘Fixing the future of procurement – Urgent action in extraordinary times’,” says Jodi-Lee Rood, Project Director for Smart Procurement, the organisers of the event.
“We encourage potential sponsors to contact our team as soon as possible, as there are a limited number of packages available. Delegates can visit our website to find more information on the conference sessions, being held on 19 and 20 May,” says Keshni Reddy, Head of Commercial for Smart Procurement.
